History

Trip Seymour, lead singer and guitarist of the English band Paramecium, met his wife, Annie van der Zee, during an interview for Rolling Stone magazine. Annie wrote for Rolling Stone after graduating from Northwestern with a double major in journalism and music, and was interviewing the members of Paramecium for a cover story. (Let's pretend that Paramecium is a hair metal band from the 80s that still has a gigantic following today but has a much mellower sound now). Trip and Annie dated for a year and got engaged - soon, she was pregnant with Ariella. Upon discovering the pregnancy, the engaged couple eloped while on tour. Ariella was born in Israel during Paramecium's 1992 world tour, and was given a Hebrew first and middle name to reflect her place of birth, despite not being Jewish (her parents thought it was fitting). Paramecium's biggest hit, the power ballad "Mi Bella Ariella" was their biggest hit (even though critics thought that parenthood had made Trip soft), staying at number one on the Billboard Hot Singles chart for 10 weeks in a row.

Ariella lived a lot of her younger years on the road, since her father was touring and her mother was able to do her work remotely. When she was three years old, and the band was recording, Annie got into a terrible car accident (she was hit by a drunk driver who was driving in the wrong lane), and died instantly. Ariella doesn't remember her mother, but wears a locket in the shape of a guitar pick (her father was never really a romantic) that her father had once given her mother, with her mother's picture inside.

As is the life of the celebrity, her father was in a lot of relationships, marrying two different women since she was 5 years old, and divorcing them soon after. He's currently on wife number four (third stepmother), a twenty-four year old Playboy model whom Ariella despises and has a slew of horrible nicknames for. Since wife number three was from Florida, Trip bought her a gigantic mansion in Olympia Heights, forcing Ariella to move with them from their home in Malibu to Olymphia Heights this past fall. Though she despises the stepmother, and hated the idea of living in Florida, she's growing to like Olympia Heights.

Ariella has been doing ballet since she was four years old (her father signed her up for ballet classes in an effort to give her children her own age and females to be around). She's also been swimming for almost as long (living on the beach in California gave her a love of the ocean and of water). She's really fit, and participates in competitive swimming races and also practices with a local synchronized swimming group once a week.

Ariella is a huge football fan, and upon arriving to Florida, her father surprised her with season tickets to the Miami Dolphins (I'm clever, eh?) Though they're not the greatest team in the world, she's become a quick fan.

In an effort to make friends (aka she was forced by her father), Ariella joined the cheerleading squad upon entering Olympia Heights High. This was not quite the lavish California life she was used to, but she made do. On occasion, she'd take her father's private jet back to California for the weekend or to New York to their penthouse loft on the Upper East side, but aside from their wealth and her father's celebrity, she tries to live a normal life and is surprisingly not that spoiled or pompous about what she has.

This summer, when she is not vacationing in Europe or visiting friends on the west coast, Ariella will be working as a lifeguard in a local pool.

Ariella is completely unaware of her status as a goddess. When she developed her first power, understanding aquatic animals, she thought she was going crazy. Trip keeps a very large fishtank in their living room, and when Ariella told her father that she thought she could hear muffled speech coming from the fish in the fishtank, he sent her to a therapist who diagnosed her as schizophrenic and put her on antidepressants. Unfortunately, she could still hear aquatic animals, and she started to blame the drugs she assumed that her mother took while pregnant with her. As she developed her second power, breathing underwater, Ariella knew that it had to be the drugs - there was no other possible explanation that she could fathom.

Personality

Despite her father's extreme wealth, Ariella is surprisingly sweet and down to earth (as down to earth as someone who has a private jet and a personal trainer can be). She's a huge flirt, but will never settle for just any guy. Ariella is a graceful dancer and quick on her feet in social situations as well. Thus, she's a good conversationalist, a great dancer and swimmer, and very ambitious. She either wants to be a marine biologist or a veterinarian, but either way, she wants to attend Northwestern like her mother did, so she does fairly well in school, as long as we're not talking about history class.

When Ariella is angry, it's best to leave the room, since she is known to have a very hot temper. However, if she's extremely upset over a situation, she might try to run away - when her father told her that they were moving to Florida so they could live with his new wife, a Playboy model, she booked herself a first class, one way ticket to London (on her father's credit card) to go stay with her grandmother.

However, if you get to know Ariella, she's a devoted friend, and if you have her word, she will not break her promise. She's not prone to infidelity, and she believes that first impressions are good indicators of the way a person is. She can be extremely fickle on some situations, but rub her the right way and she's easy to please.
